Freelance Data Engineer
About Lakehouse Partners:

At Lakehouse Partners, we specialize in helping organizations transform their data into a strategic asset. We partner with clients to design scalable data solutions. These solutions drive innovation and empower better decisions. As experts in data engineering, analytics, and AI, we guide businesses through cloud migrations, build compliance frameworks, and enable actionable insights. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies like Databricks, we empower organizations to unlock the full potential of their data and achieve measurable results.

As a proud Databricks Solution Partner, we bring deep expertise in leveraging the Databricks Lakehouse Platform to deliver cutting-edge solutions. We work across the three major cloud providers—Azure, AWS, and GCP—to ensure seamless, scalable, and customized implementations. By combining advanced technologies with a client-focused approach, we empower businesses to unlock the full potential of their data and achieve measurable results.

About the Role:

As we are growing rapidly, we often need support to provide reliable support to our clients. Therefore, we have a network of freelance engineers to help us. In this role, you’ll help us execute the data architecture plans and optimize processes to utilise cloud solutions fully. You will work on building and optimizing data pipelines, building data models and training clients/colleagues.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner directly with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored data architectures that drive business outcomes.
  • Develop and optimize data workflows for ingestion, transformation, and processing using Databricks.
  • Design and manage data storage, processing, and orchestration solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP with Databricks as the core technology.
  • Optimize data processing for performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead and mentor teams, delegating tasks effectively to ensure successful project execution.
  • Architect, develop and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure to meet client demands.
  • Collaborate closely with client teams, including product managers, data engineers, analysts, and scientists.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of architecture and transformations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the data engineering field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes. Proven expertise with at least one cloud provider (Azure, AWS, GCP) and Databricks.
  • Knowledge: Ability to design and implement scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions.
  • Mindset: A proactive communicator who thrives in client-focused environments, passionate about mentoring and sharing knowledge.
  • Bonus: Fluency in Dutch is a plus.

If you don’t tick every box above, we’d still encourage you to apply. We’re building a diverse team whose skills balance and complement one another.

What We Offer:
  • Collaborate with industry-leading clients across diverse sectors to deliver impactful data solutions.
  • Utilize cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, with Databricks as a central focus.
  • Access exclusive learning resources from Databricks, Microsoft, Amazon, and Google to continuously enhance your skills.
  • Benefit from opportunities to earn industry-recognized certifications (Databricks and cloud platforms) sponsored by Lakehouse Partners.
  • Join a growing community of data professionals in the Benelux, where we foster collaboration and innovation through regular meetups, knowledge-sharing sessions, and networking opportunities.

We want to create a working environment that allows all employees to bring their best and authentic selves. If who we are suits you, but you're not sure if you're the best fit for the role, we still encourage you to apply so we can help you find the role that fits you best.
